Ingraham High School

Ingraham High School was named after Edward Sturgis Ingraham.
A mountaineer and educator.
He attempted to climb Mt. Rainier 13 times.
He succeeded 11.
The Ingraham Glacier on Mt. Rainier is named after Him.
Ingraham High School is a 28 acre campus with a little over
2 acres of Forest still surviving.
The remainder of the campus is building, parking lot or
athletic field with a sprinkling of courtyards.
The battle for the trees, is because the school wants to expand.
However instead of using space that has no trees (mission page),
the School District is insisting upon
removing over half the trees in one of the two parcel of Urban Forest left.
The neighbors are  fighting to keep the trees.
The City Council is also trying to keep the trees (news page).
So far the School District is being stubborn.
The Urban Forest,  Ingraham Trees, named after a conservationist is being attacked.
 We ask for your help.
